Xinfeng Bao received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2008. In the same year, he started his master study of Computer Engineering in Politecnico di Milano, Italy, supported by ICE-UNIONCAMERE scholarship. In 2010, he joined Graphics 4 Embedded Systems research group at STMicroelectronics in Italy as an intern researcher. Early 2011, he received his M.Sc. degree from Politecnico di Milano. Since 2011, he is a PhD student in the Video Coding and Architectures (VCA) group at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands.
He is currently working on developing advanced traffic surveillance system. The system targets 3 key features: (1) generic framework independent of the scenes; (2) real-time implementation; (3) high-level semantic analysis. His research interests includes object-of-interest (on-road vehicle, ship, pedestrian, etc.) detection, context modeling, semantic event extraction, etc.
He has solid background in computer vision, image processing and machine learning. He is also experienced in popular programming languages in related research areas, such as MATLAB, C/C++, etc.
